Questions and answers
We focus on three practice areas: wills and estates, business compliance, and employment law. Within these areas we provide advisory services including document drafting, policy development, compliance reviews, and ongoing guidance. We do not handle litigation or court representation.
You can contact us by phone at +65 6226 3140, email at hello@legalpeaceofmind.life, or through the enquiry form on our contact page. Briefly describe your situation and we will arrange a consultation at our Robinson Road office or by video call.
A will is not only about property. It allows you to appoint guardians for minor children, name an executor to administer your estate, and direct how savings, investments, personal belongings, and digital assets should be distributed. Even without property, a will ensures your wishes are recorded rather than leaving distribution to intestacy rules.
A lasting power of attorney (LPA) allows you to appoint someone you trust to make decisions on your behalf if you lose mental capacity. There are two types: one covering personal welfare and healthcare decisions, and another covering property and financial affairs. An LPA is recommended for anyone who wants control over who manages their affairs, rather than leaving it to a court-appointed deputy.
Yes. We draft employment contracts tailored to role type, seniority, and industry context. We also prepare employee handbooks and policies covering leave, confidentiality, conduct, and termination procedures. For growing companies, we can review existing documentation to identify gaps and update clauses that no longer reflect current law or working arrangements.
A compliance review examines your company's governance structures, register maintenance, board processes, director compliance, and statutory filing status. We identify gaps, recommend corrective steps, and help implement improvements. Reviews are particularly valuable before investment rounds, restructurings, or when a company has not audited its legal foundations recently.
Most straightforward wills are completed within two to three weeks from the initial consultation, allowing time for drafting, your review, and any revisions. More complex estates involving cross-border assets or blended family structures may require additional time. We provide a timeline estimate at the start of each engagement.
